In the news: Inter City Urgent selected as a finalist in the Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards for 2010

We are delighted to be chosen as a finalist in the Actionmail Excellence in Marketing cateory this year for our Fast Pallet truck services.

In March 2009 we restructured and re-released our truck services under the banner Fast Pallets to address areas of the market that were not being serviced. Since then our truck volumes have increased 600% and we have gained a major jump on our competitors. We are the only company offering 1 hour, 2 hour and 4 hour delivery times for palletised freight in Auckland.

The finals are held on Friday the 3rd of September - we will keep you all informed of our progress!

In the news: Emissions Reduction Ahead of Schedule

From 2008 to 2010 Inter City Urgent has reduced the average emission per fleet vehicle by 23%

Being in the transport industry, our service relies on vehicles consuming fossil fuels. This does not mean we as a company should simply accept the problem is too big to resolve. Our continued goal has been to reduce the average emission value (g/km) per vehicle on our fleet by:
• allowing only later-model, more fuel-efficient vehicles on our fleet
• utilising our GPS tracking technology to ensure more efficient routing
• focused training on techniques to reduce fuel consumption and improved navigation skills

Our goal is to continue the pace of emissions reduction to an average for our light commercial vehicles to below 220g/km by 2012.

We have just completed an upgrade of all of our truck's side-curtains to display the new 'Fast Pallet' branding. Our goal is to draw attention to our range of fast, point-to-point pallet services starting from $20.
